Truth does come out – sometimes in this way or sometimes in that way. It does not sit back in any scenario. Purn Vinashak is a novel in Hindi that has been written by Ashish Kumar and this novel explores the possibilities of a connection between the ancient history of India that takes us back to Ramayana, Mahabharata and also among Gods – Ram, Krishna, Shiva and so on. The most interesting thing is that the book has been written in the modern pretext – the events take place in contemporary times. Surya Singha, the central figure in the novel who narrates various stories, takes us through various parts of our great ancient history – known and unknown.

Ashish, Avinash and Puja are other central characters and they play an important part in driving the story forward. Once the revelation takes place – Surya Singha is not a simple man but someone who has been living for centuries – Vibhishan, the brother of Ravan who is suffering from a curse that Ravan ‘bestowed’ upon him. He wants freedom from his curse and that freedom comes in a rather difficult way. Ashish and Avinash along with Puja try very hard for liberty from his curse and in the way forward, they also meet Hanuman, the mighty God of Hindus.

The novel has been written in very simple Hindi language and it will surely impress the common readers of fiction who want to read interesting stories with twists and also a history. Just imagine knowing about the ancient history of India and the parts that we don’t know from someone who is Vibhishan himself! The novel has been written with deliberate attempts to keep the stories within the story in balance so that the readers enjoy the novel even more. I will say that this story is for everyone to follow and read.

I have rated this novel 3.7 out of 5 stars. I liked the simple language but I did not like much the explanations that Surya Singha makes at times. I also liked the twists in the plot. The novel is certainly thrilling and the conclusion is even more enticing that will make the readers go crazy. So, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and buy the novel from Amazon now:
